It is with considerable disappointment that the Can-Am Committee reports that we are postponing "Can-Am 3" to Spring 2007 on the Canadian side of the border. There are a variety of reasons for this decision. On the Canadian side, a venue change prompted a date change and a new venue. Neither the new date nor the new place were ideal. On the American side, the US organizers have concerns in their personal lives which are occupying their time and energies. It was decided that it was in the best interests of the Can-Am Conference to wait a year and go forward in a positive manner. To all of you who applied to be speakers – thank you. You are an exceptional lot. I hope you will keep the Can-Am in mind when the call goes out for speakers for 2007. (That call will probably take place around Labour Day 2006) Thank you! This Conference is brought to you by the combined efforts of the Canadian Society of Questers and the Energy Dowsers and the NE Washington Society (NEWS) Dowsers Chapters, of the American Society of Dowsers. The Canadian Society of Questers (CSQ) is a non-profit volunteer organization that promotes the ancient art of divining in its many forms. Its national headquarters is in Vancouver, with currently active Chapters in Vancouver, Victoria, Smithers and Hay River NWT, and membership throughout British Columbia, The Pacific Northwest, and the remainder of North America.
The Energy Dowsers, a chapter of the ASD in Washington (State), is just celebrating its first birthday. There are general meetings 4 times a year on a Sunday afternoon. They 'go on the road' to other parts of the state for field trips and/or to hold workshops/ meetings [in the north, east, west and southern parts of the state], when invited to meet with a group. They also welcome in-the-field dowsing, out-of-town speakers, trading books and tapes. Member meetings are held on dowsed Friday evenings at someone's home for fun, food, dowsing info exchange and maybe dowsing related videos. Most of the members are online and communicate through emails.
The American Society of Dowsers (ASD) is a non profit reseach and education organization that focuses on the many areas of dowsing and divination. The ASD, begun in 1961, now has almost 5,000 members and over 80 chapters throughout the United States. They hold an annual convention in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont and sponsor conferences in their various regions. The ASD has the most extensive selection of dowsing books and tools in North America in both their on site and updated online bookstore.
