Additional April activities in our community, of interest to the Toronto Dowsers are listed in the "UPCOMING" section, below.

Setting up our 3 Spring 2008 meetings:  April, May, June has been the most challenging yet.  Ever.  Doing, or trying to do some activities make me feel as if I'm swimming in jello.  This time it feels like trying to push through walls of cotton candy.   Airless, stifling,  stuffed, sicky sticky sweet.

There is a speaker I have been trying to arrange for since July 2007.   We made 3 previous bookings, each one has fallen through.  Emails and phone calls don't flow smoothly.   Mostly, when I "try" to email or phone, the cotton candy wall pops up and my head falls off my neck and falls asleep.  Its like a Vonnegut novel where the protagonists searches all over many universes looking for someone and experiences extreme challenges before the goal is reached -- if ever.  It is the journeying, the challenges, sticking to it, encountering difficulties, knowing you have to wait for more propitious timing from time to time however always sustain focused determination to succeed and move forward even if moving forward can mean at times going sideways or backwards.  I have frequently encountered energies, say, which seem to want to derail me, but never like this time.  So I've been slogging through the jello and cotton candy, past snapping alligators, falling in some times but getting up to slog some more.    I can see now, that shore is closer than before.

For those that comprehend this, it seems that there are forces which do not want certain events, meetings, etc., to come about.  Our May speaker can address this.

The first time this happened --- that I was aware of --- was February 2003 when we invited Mary Hardy to speak.  Mark Hazlewood, who wrote the Planet "X" material, was also in town and came as our guest.  David Icke's Toronto area lawyer was invited, but he was not able to attend.  Also, the person who led one of our workshops and makes the chemtrail dispersing orgone energy CloudBusters, Succor Punches, pucks (originally designed by Don Croft), etc. was invited and came.   Not exactly a lightweight gathering.

Some of the positive forces who were to be there encountered blockages to their attendance.  Mary got lost on the way to the hall.   I forgot my notes at home and had a wild ride going back to get them.  Walter Huszczo got a ticket on the way in.  Margaret Ball, who was to lead dowsing practice, had a slight mishap at home.  A very unusual combination of circumstances.

This kind of activity was also evident around the 2001 American Society of Dowsers convention.   Several speakers had to cancel at the last minute due to deaths in their families.  Stewart Swerdlow could not drive there.  Every time he started out from his home, his car would act up.  As soon as he turned around to return home, his car was fine.  We were all falling asleep at the convention.  Walt Woods gave a presentation on the "Windows in Time".   We were falling asleep, which is not something you do at a Walt Woods presentation.  Remember, this was a presentation dealing with "Time".   Walt ended his presentation, 45 minutes early.  Because he thought his time was up.

When you are trying to do something that greatly challenges a detrimental status quo, be aware that more than usually weird circumstances may arise that will try to slow you down, change your direction or stop you all together.  It can seem like Mercury Retrograde times ten.

What's the best way to deal with it?  Like the Chinese finger puzzle, the more you struggle, the stronger becomes the trap.

Like getting your car stuck in the snow, the more you rev the engine, the only thing that happens is your tires spin faster, digging the hole deeper.   Do not continue going straight ahead at full speed.  What to do is to back off somewhat, choose a slightly different direction and press lightly on the gas.  Or rock the car back and forth till you have enough momentum to shoot out of the trap.

Clearing / Transforming  Detrimental  Frequencies / Energies / Spiritual Clearing
Successfully  Clearing / Transforming  Detrimental  Frequencies / Energies / Spiritual Clearing  is not an ability that many are good at.  In addition to the knowledge of what to do one must personally have strong development and strength in most of their subtle energetic bodies.  Also, they must have "done their work" to clear their most egregious personality and character patternings, continue to 'clear their stuff'  and not have a lot of holes / weaknesses when it comes to the usual:    Power trips |  Greed  |   Money/Poverty issues |  Ego trips  |  Sexual greed  |  and their ilk.  They must also want to sincerely help others, not help their own purse grow fatter.

I have tried to find and bring to us those who can do and teach this work.  One person, who had the knowledge, ability and experience and whose fame increased with the help of our support, fell prey to whisperings, ego and greed.  Another who had the ability was so scared about financial loss, that it did come about, became infected, ensorcelled and brought down to very low vibrational frequencies and became wildly irrational.  It is not at all easy to be able to do the work, to remain strong yet flexible, centered, clear, grounded, balanced, humble and not yield to temptation.

Who, today, could fulfill these requirements?  Can anyone do so?  How about --- a Jesuit Priest?

Our THURSDAY May 29th speaker shall be  Fr. Richard Hunt, S.J., on "Spiritual Clearing".

A psychotherapist, his interests include Western and Eastern spirituality, meditation, prayer, liturgy, pastoral counseling and retreats.  He has studied healing for 35 years with various teachers: he is a Reiki Master-Teacher, uses kinesiology and dowsing.   A trained musician and artist, Fr. Richard  has studied and practices Tibetan, and Chinese healing methods, Christian laying-on-of hands, Therapeutic Touch, esoteric and psychic healing methods, he has trained as a shaman with a Native American healer, uses color, sound and music healing methods, Cymatics, Radionics, Rapid Eye Technology, EMF Balancing Technique, Spiritual Clearing, various healing instruments, etc. as well as some methods he developed.

He will be giving a workshop that weekend, Friday evening and Saturday.   The details, such as costs, location and detailed content have not yet been set.   It has been demanding enough to get to this point.

It is hoped that after this first introduction to one another, that Fr. Richard can return to us on a regular basis as there is so much to learn on this topic and the demand for this ability increases exponentially.

He has also written an extremely comprehensive workbook whose cost should not be more than $60 that I suggest you buy, especially if you plan to take the workshop and use the material.  The books will be available at the meeting as well as at the workshop.

It has taken me 4 days to get to write the above information and 4 hours to do so, with fractured phrasings, thanks to all the cotton candy and jello.  This is why certain planning details for our group, which are usually fairly smooth and easy, have not been addressed, worked out or completed during this time.  Fr. Richard and I have spoken about these blockages in our path when he comes to speak to groups and the unique difficulties encountered by hopeful attendees around getting to the venue.

It is very important that Fr. Hunt come to talk to us.  It is important that you attend.  Plan carefully.  Listen to traffic reports.  Leave home early to make sure you make it on time.  Remember!   It's on a THURSDAY night, to accommodate his busy schedule.

Wow.  I'm exhausted.   Feels like I've been LIVE in several episodes of  Lord of the Rings.   .   .   .    .   .   Doing taxes, cleaning even.  Is a lot easier.  Was experiencing similar, but not as relentless --- incursions, last fall in bringing Barry Carter, of ORMUS renown here.  Get the picture?

I think bringing Richard here will be one of our and my major accomplishments for this year.

OKAY!   April !!!   The  three  different  possible scenarios I had in mind and was working on for April did not come about so I finally took my own advice, STOPPED and went at things at a slightly different angle in continuous low gear.

Do you ever plan a dinner but it snows and you can't go buy food so you put together something creative at home and it turns out even better?   Our April meeting, details not  yet finalized, will be a potpourri of different talents and views, AND!  ...  see the UPCOMING section, below.

DR. KARIM's son, Sayed, was in the GTA mid March to teach an advanced BioGeometry seminar, primarily on the use of the Human Energy Archetype Ruler.  This was attended by 18 Toronto Dowsers who have completed the Advanced Training.   We got a good look at a draft copy of Dr. Karim's book, to be available soon.   It is outstanding and shall be a book that everyone will want to have for their own library and read more than once.

New Store and ConceptCulinarium™ opened March 26th at 705 Mount Pleasant Road, just south of Eglinton Avenue.  Dedicated foodie proprietor Kathleen is a professional home economist living in Toronto, with a degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Ryerson University, solid business experience, vision and savvy, has developed recipes for several of Canada’s large food corporations, edited recipes for cookbooks, conducted cooking demonstrations, and organized large scale food events.

The products in the store are Ontario products which include a range of organic, natural, artisanal and / or sustainably produced products ranging from preserves to snacks, cheeses to meats, non-perishables to frozen items. All items have in common is they are all locally produced.  "All Ontario, All the Time."

They will sponsor edible events - such as cooking classes, tastings, meet the maker sessions, and enlightening explorations of Ontario food.  I stopped in the day after it opened.  She is interested in finding "guest farmers", i.e., a farmer who will come in and bring produce for sale and stay a few hours, talking to the customers as well as people to give food demos so I gave her an initial listing of qualified Toronto Dowsers and friends!

Kathleen said that Toronto Dowsers may receive a 10% discount for products purchased at the store before June 30, 2008!   Welcome to the neighborhood!

The Toronto Dowsers is an independent dowsing organization which commenced in 2000 with 6 people.  Through the teaching and use of dowsing and dowsing concepts and methodologies, we strive towards conscious awareness.  We have mostly monthly meetings, resources, a comprehensive mostly monthly newsletter, a members library and activities of interest to the holistic community.   We organize ourselves along a loose teamwork structure which favors a meritocracy.  Our meetings and newsletters give you tools so you can help yourself, your family, friends and neighbors; the meetings have evolved to be the gathering place in Toronto for like minded energy workers to get together and share energy.  Our members are 'helper type' people interested in health and healing, planetary stewardship, subtle energies and making our world a better place for all.  Our members, newsletters, monthly presentations, etc.,  focus on diverse but related subjects such as:  Older teachings of: Astrology, BioGeometry, Egyptology, Kaballah, Mayan Cosmology, Sacred Geometry ...  Location of: Water, treasure, minerals, people pets and objects ...  Healing the Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual Bodies ...  As well as: Animals, earth energies, geopathic stress, planetary grids, stone circles, energy dowsing, essential oils,  geopolitics, herbs, horticulture, ancient and native wisdom, natural and traditional healing, vibrational medicine, Power of the Mind, Radionics, Remote Viewing, Sound & Light & Color, Helping Children ,,,  At Our Annual Networking Social,  members meet greet and schmooze, have a marketplace to inform, sell their products, services, and enjoy Pot luck.  The following are a few of the many web sites that could be of interest to people new to our group:

Robert and Elizabeth have honored us with their presence, teachings and wisdom each spring for the last 4 years.   They are taking this year off from traveling to spend time at home as a new family so we will not see them until next year.   We wish them the best of everything, excellent health and great fortune, now always and forever and hope we can look forward once again to the pleasure of their presence in the not too distant future.

Tuesday, April 8 - Monthly Meeting:  Toronto Dowsers PotPourri

Toronto Dowsers members, people from within and without our community will give short presentations on various aspects of dowsing, health and energy work that have not been addressed.   The programme is not yet finalized.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to connect and reconnect with Dowsing Buddies and/or people in your geographical area so you can car pool to and from meetings.   If you would like to find  someone in your neighborhood so you can practice dowsing with them, be sure to attend.   Keep in mind, that when you would like insight on an important situation that has strong emotional attachment for you, it is unwise to do your own dowsing on these issues.   It is best to get someone to dowse these questions for you.    Like CPR, you want to have that set up, before you need it.

There is an article on KEFIR in this issue.   Oli Ullman is a kefir expert and contributed to the article.  She will be bringing in some of her delicious homemade kefir so you can taste it.

Be prepared for some pleasant surprises, AHA's, useful information, commingling and fun!

Tong Ren Energy Healing Workshop

Tong Ren energy healing is a therapy for internally healing a patient's energy system by accessing the collective unconscious,  for internally accessing that energy system, and removing blockage which causes disease.  Similar to the energetic principles of acupuncture, instead of using acupuncture needles on a person's body, one taps on an acupuncture model doll on certain spots with a magnetic hammer.  The results of both methods are similar.  As the system grows and more people take classes and use this method, more are contributing resulting in an easy and powerful healing modality.

The primary goal of the healing system is to remove the blockage which interferes with the proper functioning of the body. This can be done in the individual setting or the class group environment.

The Tong Ren energy healing is an effective method for healing people with cancer and other serious illnesses. In the winter of 2001, Tom Tam, the founder, successfully healed a client with lung cancer by using energy healing exclusively. After that, Tom did individual treatments and also set up a healing class for cancer patients and, at the same time, took the opportunity to train his students in this healing technique. By February 2002, the first healing class began. During the next three years, more than 2200 people have attended these "Guinea Pig"  healing classes. As of late, the class has drawn people with diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Parkinson Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme Disease, RSD, and HIV/AIDS.  People come from all over to attend these classes.  The Guinea Pig classes are free.  For the many who benefit from the classes, it is strongly suggested that they take a workshop and work on themselves and family members at home.

Tui-Na literally translates as Push-Pull massage. The focal point of the O.C.I.'s Tui-Na massage is the spinal column. The philosophy is simple: pain and tension are the body's signal that something is out of balance, otherwise referred to as a "blockage". Throughout our lives blockages accumulate due to STRESS, tension, poor posture, or internal imbalances etc.

Tui-na massage breaks down the soft tissue enabling the free flow of Qi, or bio-electricity, to pass through the blocked area. Chinese medicine believes that our internal Qi travels along pathways called meridians, whereas Western medicine believes that bio-electricity travels along the nervous system. Different schools of thought understand it differently. Either way, it is the life force. If we understand that this energy nourishes, sustains, and heals our cells, glands and organs, then when any blockages are released, the free flow of Qi, or healing energy, will be restored.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Proverb
When there is pain there is no free flow of Qi.
When there is free flow of Qi there is no pain.

Our February 26, 2008 Speaker:  Helen Russ, of the Clairvision School: "Vision and Dowsing"
by  Michelle Godfrey

“You don’t teach your grandmother how to suck eggs.” Helen Russ used this Australian expression to not to try to pretend to be someone she is not and to demonstrate respect to the Dowsing abilities of our group as to why her talk to the Toronto Dowsers would not be strictly about Dowsing but rather how to gain abilities that would greatly catapult our skills.
Helen Russ, who is ranked as a senior Clairvision Instructor with the Clairvision School of Australia, chose instead to apply her considerable clarity and sparkle to the topic of “Vision.”

"Vision is about cognizing reality"

Helen's definition of vision does not include logic, deductions or a discerning from events. Instead it is an intuition, a knowing that comes through an opening that sometimes spontaneously appears. Vision is learning to access what we all inherently do have access to and developing techniques to access it at will.

The Clairvision School was founded in 1987 in Australia by Samuel Sagan of France. He began meditation practice at the age of 16 and subsequently spent many years in India in esoteric studies before founding Clairvision as a meditation school for modern-day westerners, designed to help its adherents become more effective players in today’s world.

Modern day man’s subtle body anatomy has evolved to be quite different than historical man. In the ancient past, people walked the earth with extraordinary vision. They could leave their physical bodies easily. When observing a mountain they wouldn’t look at it, they would “become” it. They could open to the etheric plane of the earth and know everything about it.

If you are reading this newsletter from Internet:

A newsletter is published for each Toronto Dowsers meeting.  A hard copy is mailed to each of our members.  Membership dues pay for this newsletter.  Members receive many more benefits and more information than the newsletter. If you live in the GTA, and read these newsletters often, we request that you become a member. We welcome you to join our group.

Today’s lifestyle is vastly different from that of even 100 years ago when most humans would have spent most of their day outdoors and in daily direct contact with the earth. The subtle bodies of such a person were built to sustain wide-open communication with the spiritual realms. But such a person could not survive in our technologically burdened modern world. The School’s mission is therefore to help the people of today remain players in the modern world while rediscovering how to maintain contact with their inner light.

To “unpack” vision you must first “unpack” the subtle bodies. The implication seems to be that modern man’s subtle bodies are present but somehow dormant or dysfunctional or in storage.

A person is built of many bodies:

All of the above bodies, namely the Physical, the Etheric and the Astral, are vehicles that we pick up on entrance to this reality and use while here. They are vehicles for creation that help us get around and do things while we are living on earth. When we leave, we discard all these bodies. The only part of us that we keep for eternity, that is You --  is the Ego, or Higher Ego, also known as the Higher Self. This is the part of us that only knows truth, the principle of eternity.

Life in the modern world has led to contamination of our various bodies, which may prevent us from contacting the inner realms or the eternal part of us. There are techniques, however, which can be learned through Clairvision, which can help clean up and change the subtle bodies so that they become reflectors of the inner light and more fully resonate with the frequencies of light. Through the experience of Ego, time after time, these subtle bodies, the astral and the etheric undertake their own transformation, get reformed.  They are reconstructed of different substances and they begin to reflect the real you.

The foundations of the Clairvision work are:

Clairvision work is founded upon the following principles: There are several styles of vision to be developed through the work: When we operate from vision we tap into the source of knowingness.

Helen did offer some words about Dowsing. She said mental Dowsing with a pendulum accesses the Astral Body while Dowsing with rods or the body uses the belly, or the Etheric Body and it is easy to get “gunked” from such Dowsing because the etheric loves to blend with its environment. When you are Dowsing earth grids, for example, the etheric begins to resonate to the vibration of the grid, becoming one with it, which can contaminate the dowser’s Etheric Body. She recommended limiting the time spent doing this type of Dowsing and that the Dowser be vigilant about cleansing. She recommended showering afterward with focused intent to cleanse.  Additional etheric cleansing techniques were also advocated.

The principles of the Clairvision Meditation practice are explained in the book "Awakening the Third Eye", written by Samuel Sagan, the school’s founder. It is currently available as a free download from the school’s website: www.clairvision.org.

*                    *                    *                    *                    *

The aim of the Clairvision School is to develop a model of consciousness to connect people with the spiritual world with a sense of integrity.  To develop techniques where we retain a connection with our inner world, especially as we do not have a language for the inner realms.  VIsion is beyond logic and beyond the understanding of the ordinary mind.  With techniques, you can access it at will.   The vision does have an organizing power and when you learn what this is you can unlock the inner vision and source consciousness.  You can experience The Source, which is a living thing, tune into the source of consciousness.  This is what Rudolf Steiner was drawing from.

  • Real Vision is when you become something and are changed by it, i.e., a vision from the heart.
  • The space of consciousness in a room can really change when people in the room tune into the vision of the heart.
  • When someone uses vision on you, you will feel it, you'll feel a certain touching.  It is tactile.
  • The vision of the Belly:  This kind of vision knows all kinds of things.  It is illogical.  It gets you attracted to people when you should not be attracted.  A repressed belly can make you feel sad, uptight.  It loves the risqué, fun.   You need Belly Vision for Land Dowsing.
  • You get a shot from the Astral. If you always "astralize" yourself you can end up with chronic fatigue. The Astral sends impulses to the child, which is the etheric.
  • The Etheric has to perform, has to rejuvenate.
  • Samskaras, taken from the Sanskrit, are wounds in the psyche.
  • When you use a pendulum you access the Astral, and the Astral spaces.  When you pendulum dowse and use vision you become that which you are dowsing.
  • "Only a constant aspiration for truth will keep us on a path of light."
DOWSERS!   PLEASE!   You can read Samuel Sagan's "Awakening the Third Eye" in its entirety, online.  Go to the Clairvision site.  Make sure you read chapter 12, which is all about Dowsing.  If you do not have internet, ask someone to print it out for you.  Thank you!

Olga Lukjanenko, Helen's teaching colleague at Clairvision will be holding an  "Awakening the Third Eye Workshop", Vision of the Eye, Vision of the Heart.  $200.  TORONTO:  APRIL 5 & 6    KITCHENER:  APRIL 12 & 13

There is a full syllabus for the course and the following are the techniques taught that relate to dowsing:

    Energy management and protection skills
        * Discerning closed and opened states of your energy. Learning to pay attention to these states, and produce them at will
        * Understanding and perceiving when and why your energy should be closed, or opened
        * Learning to gather and close your energy for the purpose of protection
        * How to use the third eye and belly energies for the purpose of grounding
        * The use of energy for interpersonal skills: matching someone from the heart or belly center

When our loved ones die:  Practical and

Some experiential observances from Practical and Emotional perspectives
    (1)   On a Sunday summer evening in the early 80's I was visiting friends in Montreal,  I went to the home of an older cousin for a dinner engagement, one I had not seen in years, whose English was poor and whose French was non existent, who also lived there.   Approaching her apartment building, I was getting the heebie jeebies, then noticed the ambulance parked outside.  The closer I got to the building, the front door, the floor, the apartment, the more pronounced this feeling became.  Rounding the corner from the elevator, their apartment door was open and people were around it, talking quietly.   An hour or 2 earlier, her husband had died from a sudden heart attack.
As she had no one close to her I stayed with her that week.  Putting aside the shock, etc., of the situation for the moment, she told me that we would be leaving the following morning at 8 a.m. to go downtown.
Her husband was in the garment business and had a small loft showroom in an old fashioned building.   Everyone, tenants included, could only enter when the building was officially open.  We arrived just as it had opened up, took the only elevator --- a service elevator, with a hand operated grill, up to his floor and locked it there.   She told me to remain in the reception area and not allow anyone in to the main office, while she went into the back.
15 minutes later I hear 2 or 3 sets of footsteps pounding up the steel stairs.   Then I understood what was going on.  The Feds had arrived.
I am there talking to them when she comes out of the back, closing her large purse.  They wanted to seize the purse but she would not allow it and we left.

That was when I began to understand more of  how the Machine works.   That when a person dies, their SIN/SSN  may be sent out very quickly and just as quickly picked up by other 'need to know (in their opinion) official' organs.   The suits pounding up the stairs were, in this case, from the bank, so they could freeze the assets.
Husband and wife had discussed this and she knew enough to get to the place of business as soon as possible and retrieve what she needed to, from the safe.  Mission accomplished.

My family still talks about how it was a miracle that I just happened to be there at that time.  It was my first time in Montreal and that was the one evening I planned to visit with them.  Our cousin's English was poor, she did not drive a car and had no one close to her there.   I had spent the previous summer with each of her peripatetic children, knew where to find them and could track them down, which I did, handling the phones and many of the arrangements.

      (2)   If you are a significant beneficiary in a person's estate, do try to find out about and understand the terms, e.g., executor, trustee, etc.,  while the person is still alive.  Make serious efforts to suss out if there may be difficulties between you and that person.   It is a lot easier and smarter to clarify things beforehand rather than spending years afterwards challenging the terms of a will.

The hardest thing for a human being to do is to change a habit.  The longer we have the habit, the harder it is to break or change it.  The first habit we develop is survival, the next is breathing, the third is often Mother.

Our subtle energetic bodies connect us to those with whom we are close to such as parents, spouses, siblings and children and form strong bonds.  When they die, it is as if the sudden loss of this connection rips open a part of us.
For the first week, all your emotional armoring is gone.   Your emotions and all its protections have been ripped apart.   You are extremely vulnerable, totally open and raw.   Be exceptionally gentle and tender with yourself, your feelings.
This is one of the few times you can probe into your psyche, as the defenses that keep us away from going into our psychology are rather stunned and off-line.  They won't be that way for long, so go inside and explore while you can.
For about 4 months, you can expect to be extremely forgetful, distracted and absentminded.  Our energies are consumed with repairing our energetic bodies, dealing with the grief and this substantially reduces our mental acuity.   Expect this and know that this is a temporary situation.
Within the next year, take extra special care of your respiratory functions because the emotion of Grief often settles in the lungs and too many people develop serious respiratory difficulties within a year after a loved one dies.

Ellie Drew tells us that when we think about those who we love and who are now gone, when we tell them how much we love them and bless them, that this helps them in their transformation, no matter how long they have been gone.

If you have any observations, experiences, etc., that could help others, please send them in for inclusion in a future issue.

    We regret the passing of   . . . .
It is ironic that 2 very strong personalities of the dowsing community, both residents of  California and 2 of the 4 executive 2003-2005 board members of the American Society of Dowsers, died within 2 weeks of one another.

March 9th, 2008,  Joan Champion succumbed after a difficult 18 month bout with cancer.  Joan, an artist, and her husband Alex, are well known in dowsing circles for the extensive work they have done with Labyrinths since 1986.   Their biggest project yet is The Art Line, a 28-mile-wide band centered on the 39.1 north latitude between 38.9 and 39.3 degrees, with the aim of inspiring an extensive cultural awakening though labyrinth walking.  The line starts in California and runs through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the southern tip of New Jersey on the East Coast.   Joan had produced Earth Symbols and was one of the main organizers of the West Coast Dowsing Conference, that takes place in Santa Cruz, California, most years, in July.   Joan was a trustee of the American Society of Dowsers and served as its secretary from  2003 to 2005.

March 24, 2008, Barry Smith, former president of the San Jose ASD chapter in California, passed on as a result of long standing health problems.   He was also long time member of the West Coast Dowsing Conference Committee and will be missed in that capacity.   A teacher and speaker at many conferences, with his colleague, Pat Dornik, Barry was also an ASD trustee and its President  from 2003 to 2005 where he had a troubled term of office, overseeing many calamities including structural, staff, chapter, membership, trustee, committee, publications, convention, constitutional,  financial, etc., areas.

March 18, 2008, Author Arthur C. Clarke renowned science fiction guru died at the age of 90.    Arthur Clark, Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury were the 3 giants of hard core science fiction for decades.   He wrote hundreds of books and one of the best known works is "2001: A Space Odyssey".  Arthur Clarke lived in Sri Lanka.  He moved there in 1956, lured by his interest in diving, which, he said, was as close as he could get to the weightless feeling of space.   Good bye for now, Arthur Clarke.  Thank you so much for the many hours of delight for the spirit and the imagination you have brought to millions around our planet.

    The Changing Time(s)

We know that times are changing.
We know there are high and low level manipulations taking place.
We know time is accelerating, that there is less time between the seconds.
We know that some generations that previously lasted 20 years are now only lasting for 3 months.
We know that some things, those that used to be a given are now uncertainties.
We know that dowsers and other energy workers are more prescient than most in that we have a knowingness about what will happen sooner than many others know.

=>  """ Every so often it seems as if time is "off", i.e., that one day feels like a different day.   This was significantly noticeable mid February 2008.   Discussed this with some who also verified similar sensations.  February 19 this was emailed to some Toronto Dowsers::

"okay --- its Weird Energy time again.  One of those times where it almost seems as if one part of the floor is a few centimeters higher than the other... just to keep one off balance --- like those times you take an afternoon nap, wake up and it takes a couple shakes to align with what day and time it is.

Saturday was a weird day.   I asked one of you and you concurred.  Saturday felt like Sunday.  I went through this at least a dozen times.

Then came Monday.   This was even weirder.  Monday felt like Saturday.   This was not related to our 3 day (Family Day) holiday weekend.  It was different.

And then I figured it out.
This is one of the things I can finally speak about more freely here, because more of you are seeing and comprehending and coming to me with these insights.   Also, someone called me this morning and asked if I noticed REALLY weird energies this weekend as in some of the weirdest yet.  ok!  more confirmation.    Then this afternoon, another phone call from someone who never asks about this....   which made me realize I'd best put this in an email.

For those who understand the Matrix, many of us are relatively outside it.  Not as much as Morpheus and his crew, because we still do live in it but we ar not of it.   We notice some of the shiftings.

This weekend was yet another temporal (time) shift.   *They* were messing with time again, tweaking it.  Again.   You'll notice this even more in the next few weeks.  Also today is the "official" end of this Mercury Retrograde (the next is May 26-June 19).    You might have notice weird stuff this past weekend, feeling off balance, feeling weird, getting hit with the nasties.  If you were home or went out. """ <=

    -       -       -       -       -
As a result of that email, I received about 6 very distinct  ME  TOO messages where others have been noticing  the weird shifts in time, to the point where one very responsible mom missed picking up her daughter from school.

One of you sent me an email saying that Jeff Rense posted articles about that same subject, that very day:

First:     Possible Time Jump?   By Ted Twietmeyer
"The affect of a time jump on the Sun is similar to throwing a stone in a calm pond the stone quickly disappears from sight but ripples continue for a long time afterward. Everything in our solar system is connected in some way,..."

Next, the following day:  Time Jumps - Update
"I have received a number of inquiries from readers who have pondered my theory of time jumps. ...  IRREGULARITIES IN THE FLOW OF TIME
Contrary to common theory, the flow of time is not as consistent as you might think. It is a human construct to mark the passage of time and nothing more that makes reality what it is, ...  Out in space, our measure of time on Earth is completely meaningless. ....  I believe that gravity and time are two sides of the same coin, if not the same thing. No one has proved exactly what gravity is. Perhaps science is looking at it in the wrong way.  ... The human mind exists outside of spacetime. Thought and memory take place at the quantum level. "

Thursday, March 6th, Toronto's CFRB Radio show host Richard Syrett talked about "Strange Time Jump Events" on his late night radio program.

SPIRITUALITY OF TIME:  As this issue is being produced and distributed, this year between Easter and Passover, following are some borrowed observations on the more spiritual understanding of Time from Rabbis Tom Meyer: and Shraga Simmons:

There is "sanctity of time." God allows us to feel different spiritual powers on each holiday.  Passover is the time of freedom. You feel, wow, I could break loose today. And that's why you have to follow this process in the proper time. The preparation period starts from the beginning of the month. Then the afternoon before the Seder at the Holy Temple, they would slaughter the animal. That's like getting in control of the animal side of you. Then the real breakthrough comes at the Seder.

Passover has a lift. It's the opportunity to feel as though I'm walking out of prison. Step out. Take a deep breath and enjoy the day. If you have the courage, and if you know what you want, the cell is open and you can walk right out.  But the opportunity is only as good as we choose it to be. God is ready to pull us out right now. Right this minute.  Take advantage. It's when the powers are in the air.

Sanctifying Time:   Nissan is one of the months in the Jewish calendar, it falls during our spring time.  The first day of Nissan -- is one of the most significant days in Jewish history. It was then, in Egypt, that God gave the first of 613 commandments to the Jewish people -- the  commandment of declaring the new moon and sanctifying the new month. For 2,448 years, God did so Himself, but now it was the time to entrusted this honor and responsibility to the Jewish people.

This is so significant  because it shows that we have the ability (and responsibility) to sanctify our lives and the passage of time. With this power to change and determine physical reality, we thereby become partners in the ongoing process of creation.

On a deeper level, when we make Kiddush every Friday night, we mention that Shabbat is a remembrance of creation, and also a remembrance of the Exodus. Nachmanides (12th century Spain) explains that Shabbat and the Exodus are intertwined. Because while Shabbat marks the week of creation, the Exodus was God's demonstration to humanity that He controls nature and directs history.   In this way, the Exodus revealed an entirely new dimension to God's mastery over the universe. And as such, the month of Nissan eclipsed creation as God's most glorious time.   Because in many respects, God's role as Director of History is even greater than His role as Creator.

In order to commemorate this new period in history, Nissan (~March-April)  is counted as the first month on the Jewish calendar. [END]

When time got changed --- again --- a year or 2 ago with the changes in Daylight Savings Time --- we saw how easy it was to manipulate time, actually, its perception.   This was brought about very quickly, to demonstrate to the masses how the authorities can even change --- time.

We are told that Time is the 4th Dimension.   Physicists tell us that time and gravity are related, that one is the flip side of the other.   On CoasttoCoast, the first week of March, astrophysicist Jim McCanney was being interviewed.   George Noory, the radio host, asked him --- what is the one question that all astrophysicists have?    What is the one thing you all want to know?  His response:   Exactly what is gravity.  No one seems to know.   He said it was such a mystery.

We are told that Time is an illusion.   We are told that we need Time in order to find Place in our physical 3D Universe, that Time brings about Order, out of Chaos.  We are told that time is Finite, it is Infinite that it has no beginning and no end.   And yet those who know, can manipulate time.  We learned Mantras, 5 years ago about how to slow down the passage of time, when we needed to.    I once absolutely had to get someplace that would take a minimum of 20 minutes.  I was there in 12, not knowing how I did this.  Many have had these kinds of experiences.  Some have told stories about how they -- briefly -- went backwards in time. Diana Gabaldon's fabulous historical novel series are about a modern day woman who unknowingly -- at first --- slips through “the stones,” a time portal in 18th century Scotland, and figures out how to go back and forth.   Her books have such a strong feeling of verisimilitude about them.  Star Trek's (TNG) "Time Traveller" episodes, too, feel very real.    What is real, what is not?   What does "real" mean?   Are we like Jim Carey's Truman in the Truman Show?  We can actually experience the adjustments to time now that the Matrix is doing.  Sometimes, too, you can see a flap of the backdrop of stage scenery, now torn, wrinkled --- of the Matrix --- almost like a literal tearing in the sky through which through the portal the machinery can be viewed -- torn or wrinkled.   Yes, we can mold time the way we can mold a loaf of bread before baking.  We have just forgotten how to do this.   I have long maintained that time, and gravity seem as real as they seem is because this is a concept that we have all agreed to -- that it exists and how it works.  If we no longer agreed on this, we would better comprehend that they are illusions.

Speaking of Passover and Easter - - - -  Passover, this year begins sundown April 19th, whose initial events for this time are said to have taken place about 3,300 years ago, is the story of freedom from slavery, the slavery that one group of people imposed upon another.  It is the liberation of their selves, of their bodies.   of the Hebrews' becoming physically and politically free from slavery leading to the Hebrews' becoming spiritually free from the "animalistic" intellect.  Physically and spiritually transformed and elevated from a loose collection of 12 tribes toiling in slavery in Egypt in physical and spiritual oppression, to a nation that became distinguished from other nations by entering into a covenant with God.
When Dr. Ibrahim Karim spoke to us September 2007, during Ramadan, he said:  "At Ramadan the earth prays for 30 days.  At certain sacred times, gold energy fills the sky.  Point your pendulum at the sky and at Nature and they will radiate gold."   He talked about the Spiritual energies, the gold that the sky is filled with.   There are also abundant spiritual energies in the sky during Passover.  Tune in.
1,300 years later, among the same peoples, another important event of liberation is said to have taken place, this time, Easter, which is even more of a liberation of the Spirit.

Judaism, Calendars, Time and Music --- Bringing many of the above sections together, this time adding Music to the Mix . . . Biogeometry Students!   Make note of the  19 year cycle!

The Jewish calendar is based on three astronomical phenomena: the rotation of the Earth about its axis (a day); the revolution of the moon about the Earth (a month); and the revolution of the Earth about the sun (a year). These three phenomena are independent of each other.   On average, the moon revolves around the Earth in about 29½ days. The Earth revolves around the sun in about 365¼ days, that is, about 12.4 lunar months.  (The Gregorian calendar used by most of the world today  has set the length of months to 28, 30 or 31 days.)

In the fourth century, Hillel II established a fixed calendar based on mathematical and astronomical calculations. This calendar, still in use, standardized the length of months and the addition of months over the course of a 19 year cycle, so that the lunar calendar realigns with the solar years. Adar I is added in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 19th years of the cycle. The current cycle began in Jewish year 5758 (which began October 2, 1997).
If you are musically inclined, you may find it helpful to remember this pattern of leap years by reference to the major scale: for each whole step there are two regular years and a leap year; for each half-step there is one regular year and a leap year. This is easier to understand when you examine this keyboard illustration and see how it relates to the leap years above.
Become aware of --- sensitize yourself to time tweakings and you will become aware of other crumblings of the Matrix which will enable you to step outside of it more easily.  When its time. . .  :)

The article below began as an email from Ellie Drew the end of January and was prepared for our February issue but then deleted for lack of space.  Ironic that the Tibetan situation has come up since that time which makes the inclusion of this piece even more meaningful now.  Read the email from Ellie below, and the additional notes.  You might also find the website, from the "Tibetan Geeks" helpful to keep current, uncensored, on events.

From Ellie Drew and Dharamsala, January 28, 2008

When Ellie Drew last spoke to the Toronto Dowsers April 17, 2007, she spoke to us about her 2nd upcoming journey to Tibet and Dharamasala, India, that she would like to bring 16 people with her AND that she was soliciting donations to purchase computer equipment and distribute the network she was connecting with in Dharamasala.  Darcie McKelvey, one of our members was one of the people who accompanied Ellie and a comprehensive report from Darcie and from Ellie appeared in our December 2007 newsletter.  At the April meeting we passed the hat and collect $670 for her project.  Here's how you helped:

    Dear Ones,
I just received this e-mail from my Dharamsala, India contact, James Walker, (who coordinates the disbursement of tech equipment we brought with us in October, and teaches in the Tibetan Multi-Media office otherwise known locally as LW's Office or Lobsang Wangyal's Office).   James and Lobsang have created a "Thank you" page so we can see what   is happening at LW's Office since the new computers and flash drives were delivered. And out to Sikkim where one of the computers, and   flash drives went.

I am planning another trip to India in mid-October going into the first week of November so if you want to make another contribution or join it let me know. I think I will only be able to bring 10 people this time. We will end the trip in Dharamsala bringing once again  computers and other tech equipment.

Blessings and Thank You for your generosity to the Tibetan Multi-Media Project! Love, Ellie

The "BodYig for the World" Project

  • The purpose of this initiative is to encourage computer applications such as FireFox, and others to build in support for the Tibetan language.  In addition to communicating with the organisations and programmers, we can help to edit the locale and language files.
  • We also aim to encourage the adoption and importation so that the Tibetan font (along with any other font) can be easily displayed in web pages.
  • A Working Group of about fifteen Tibetans are actively involved in carrying out this initiative. Many others are supporting it, following its progress, and helping with information and contacts.
  • We will be using our website, mail lists, emails, Skype messenger, and meetings to share information, centralize communications, and implement the project. Since the participants are all volunteer, and almost all activity will be online, very little expense will be involved.
  • Activities and Credits:
  • Amnye Machen - Tibetan (font conversion):  Amnye Machen has about 80 books that were typed in the Tibetan font in Windows 95, and then ported to Macintosh for the final design. They need to upgrade to Windows 98, and need advice on how to handle the font conversion.
  • All the individuals who, even though having jobs and families, within the difficult conditions of living in India, are still finding time and energy to make this happen.
  • All the Tibetan geeks in Dharamsala and elsewhere who have been studying and building over the years, creating the mindspace which has allowed this initiative to bloom.
  • Dharamsala Information Technology Group (DITG): Technical info and communications
  •  "The Institute for Conscious Change is co-sponsoring the development of a NEW Tibetan Multimedia & Technology Education & Services Center in Dharamsala, India, with Tibetan photojournalist Lobsang Wangyal. The purpose is to provide an office for free or low cost education for the Tibetan youth to learn computer tech and it’s many uses. Funds also support laptop computers for remote Tibetan monasteries. Further information can be found at Lobsang's "office" link such as budget, etc.  100% of your Tibet donation is delivered in cash or equipment. Greetings from Steve Herbert, from Ecuador

Steve Herbert leads the Water for Humanity (WFH) Committee which was established within the American Society of Dowsers to provide funding for the development of dug or drilled wells and other aspects of water resources and recovery worldwide in areas of critical need.  Steve often writes detailed travelogues as he journeys around the world and his articles have previously appeared in our issues.  The intricate detail is included here because Steve carefully describes the medicinal herbs and other botanicals he is presented with as they are explained to him by all who live there and use them as a common part of their daily lives. Toronto Dowsers love herbs.

Dear Family, Friends and Fellow Dowsers,

As many of you know, because of my experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa, and with the ASD Water for Humanity Fund, I was initially invited to Honduras in 1999 under the US Partners of the Americas program to help restore water resources following Hurricane Mitch by training dowsers. This eventually expanded in scope to training in the operation of potable drilling equipment, consulting on appropriate pumping technology, advocating for composting latrines and promoting water filtration devices. The project over the years has also expanded geographically in scope to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Haiti, The Dominican Republic and Ecuador, as well as Honduras. For the last three years I have not had the option of the POA grant but have continued to raise funds on my own. This year, I have traveled to Ecuador on my ninth trip to Latin America to do this water resources development work. What follows is an account of activities for the benefit of those of you providing financial or moral support and who have expressed interest in seeing an account of accomplishments and adventures.

Each year there seems to be some new twist to the itinerary, and this year for the first time I am accompanied by a female companion, Michelle Devost, with whom I have been very happily involved for over a year. On the 22nd of January, we bussed to Logan Airport in Boston and then flew to Quito, Ecuador, via Miami.

From Quito we bussed on a five-hour ride to Tena, east of the Andes mountain chain and in the Amazon Basin. In Tena we found our hotel and then met with Miguel Castanel, who would be acting as our translator through the two-day tour.

The next day we were escorted by the tour company to their Shangrila cabins about twenty minutes drive outside of Tena, which sit atop cliffs with a magnificent view of the Rio (River) Anzu and surrounding jungle. Our tour would begin this morning with a trek through primary growth jungle, guided by a native Ecuadoran, Matildo Aqualsaca. Miguel translated Matildo´s explanation that the reason we know it is primary growth is because we see a very slow growing palm here, and several layers of canopies which have developed. The jungle growth was so dense that we took a route following a stream, wearing boots and walking right in the water. Over time the stream had cut its way through a conglomerate rock studded with rounded quartz stones, leaving a channel sometimes inches high and sometime well over our heads so we had to squeeze through shoulder-wide passages. Of course the rainforest canopy towered even higher over that.

We had an amazing botanical tour along the way, beginning with a plant whose leaves you chew in the case of snakebite (we never saw any snakes). Next was a plant whose resin is burned like incense to drive away bad spirits, but can also be used to coat the outside of pottery after it is fired. We were shown another plant from which a toxin is derived the natives use to throw in the water to kill fish for eating. More than one plant here can provide a coagulant to stop bleeding. Practical as well was the soft broad leaf of a certain king of plant that can be used as natural toilet paper. We stuffed some in our pockets, just in case. Matildo showed us a palm that provides fiber for rope, food, drink and medicine. The leaves of another plant he showed us are used to pack or cook food and can be made into plates and cups. Another leaf provides a medicine for diarrhea. The nut of a certain kind of tree is called "monkey comb" because it is spikey and monkeys do use it to comb the fleas out of their hair. Later Matildo cut a leaf and pulled back the outer layer to let us taste the "lemon" ants within, which really did taste like lemon. Very interesting was a plant called the "communion" plant, because embedded in each leaf is a small white wafer which is edible, and looks exactly like the communion host. I was also interested in the spike moss that neutralizes the pH of the soil. Matildo played a trick on Michelle with a leaf that is tipped with a blood red color, making her think he had wiped blood off a bug bite on her neck. Particularly fascinating was a plant which is used for "energetic cleansing". Its leaves are called the "leaf of the bad air", because if a person is sick and vomiting, simply waving a branch with a cluster of these leaves around a person will cure them. Miguel spoke of how sceptical he was about this until his own son became ill and was cured by this method. Now he is a believer.

Insects were also observed along the trek, particularly beetles, ants and termites. Miguel said these actually make up 60 percent of the biomass of the rainforest. Animals were not much seen, except for birds, bats and small fish in our stream. Miguel said if you pull them out of the water, they "bark". It was interesting to see how hummingbirds built there nests under spiderwebs. It was a mutually beneficial relationship where the hummingbird gains some shelter and the spiders are provided some heat.

Part of the reason for Michelle coming on this trip and particularly for this excursion is because we have been intuiting that medicinal plants is something that she is being called to pursue. We joke with her that because she likes to move slow and be rooted in one place she is much like a plant, and so may have a special rapport with them. I gave her the book "The Secret Life of Plants" for Christmas and to further help prepare her I gave her a couple of the John Perkins books specifically about plants in the Amazon.

During our one night at Shangrila, we really enjoyed the night sounds. They did not include, however, as the website led us to believe, the sounds of howler monkeys. Miguel said that the area is not protected at this time and the natives will hunt them, So they tend to not be near human habitation. We did enjoy and were very much amused by, however, the sounds of "duck frogs" in the night. Their calls sound like "quack quack" just like a duck. This was against a backdrop of a vast variety of insect noises. In the daytime, particularly when the sun came out it was the cicadas we commonly heard.

The next morning we again descended the cliff stairs where Matildo ferried us across the river in a very ancient looking wooden canoe. Once on the other bank we hiked along the river edge headed for a visit to an indigenous village, with Matildo introducing us to more botanical gems along the way. His first stop was to make Michelle a hiking stick out of a plant which was actually a grass. Very soon after that she was introduced to the leaf cutter ants, marching along in long jungle trails each carrying a piece of leaf. Sometimes another ant or two would be hitching a ride on a leaf section but Miguel said they were "scouts" watching for birds. Taking these leaves down into the ground (and they are very fussy about the leaves they choose) they become fertilizer to grow mushroom gardens which in turn feed the aphids they raise like farmers. Miguel said the tree that the ants take the leaves from developed resistances which in turns results in medicines that help us. Also along the way we saw several of about 70 different varieties of bird of paradise plants which grow here. Matildo gathered up some of the dropped blossoms which he put on each of Michelle's fingers and her nose as well, which made for a quite amusing photo opportunity. Later we came across the seed pods of several species of plants, all of which have a white "cottony" matrix around the seed that Miguel called "monkey ice cream", because it is edible and is very sweet as it melts in your mouth. As we entered the village we saw several crops growing such as manioc or cassava (yucca), but also cacao trees, and Matildo broke open a pod form one tree to show us what the chocolate beans inside look like.

The name of this community is called Santa Monica, one that had split from another larger, and with just two couples, one having fifteen children and the other twelve, singlehandedly repopulating it. As a guest inside the house of the matriarch, we were shown how the cooking was done in a sand pit built over a board floor. Matildo explained how they had given up coffee because of the negative effect on calcium absorption, and instead have another kind of drink they call guayusa, which actually provides an even greater stimulating effect without caffeine, while helping with calcium absorption. Another drink they have is called cheecha, which is a fermented yucca (manioc or cassava). It is made by women chewing the yucca and spitting it into a bowl. The bacteria from the mouth inoculates the brew. This drink is particularly good for the prostrate. Matildo told the story of an 85 year old man who married a 25 year old woman, who eventually divorced him because he was after her all the time. As we were leaving the village, we were offered a sip of a very potent cane liquor. Michelle drew cheers from the men when she first tasted it, then chugged the rest!

Michelle and I bought some necklaces and bracelets to help the local artisans, then as we were leaving the village, Matildo cut the bark from a certain kind of tree. Taking it to a shady spot next to the river, he proceeded to demonstrate how the fibers are extracted and processed to make the bracelets, and the one he made he gave to Michelle. So we retraced our steps, going through one section of grasses where we had to hold our arms above our heads. Back across the river we ascended the cliff steps, and enjoyed a lunch that included a talapia fish which had been cooked in a leaf. We really enjoyed the meals here full of fresh vegetables in delicious sauces and fruit juices.

After another siesta in the hammocks we struck out once again for a hike to an overview point. We will never forget the massive spider web with many big spiders on it as we started out. Soon we came across the tree the ivory nut comes from. Another stop was for Matildo to demonstrate how the leaf of a certain kind of a fern was placed on the skin and slapped, it would leave a white "tattoo" behind. Our end point was a magnificent vista seeing the Rio Anzu and surrounding jungle from a different perspective. On return we repacked, and after dinner were escorted back to Tena. The next day we enjoyed the ride back to Quito, with less fog but seated on the opposite side of the bus as the drop offs.

Michelle had come down with a cold in the process and we used a free day to let her rest and for me to help nurse her back to health, because now the work was to begin. On Tuesday the 29th of January; we would be getting up early to take  a domestic flight to the dry coastal region of Manabi where in collaboration with Heifer Project, I would be presenting a two-day dowsing and water resources course to about twenty participants.

Crucial, basic, simple information on processed food

There seems to be a large irony in that we put a lot of time and effort into earning good income so we can afford to have a good lifestyle, to be educated as to what is beneficial for us and to purchase good quality items.  We are concerned about our health, looks and longevity then we "grab a bite" to eat at a fast food place, somewhat sabotaging our own efforts on our behalf!

Every 4-6 years supermarkets are remodeling.  The result is to install more processed food displays.  Real food continues to disappear.  The latest to disappear is Mineral Water.  Now one can purchase Carbonated Spring Water.  Yes, Mineral Water is still available but there are fewer choices.  Baking supplies and spices are diminishing.  Juices diminished a long time ago, in favor of  Beverages and Juice Drinks.  Salmon comes from farms, meat comes from factories.  One company boasts of the clean conditions in which its "food" is manufactured!   Can you see where this is leading to?

Processed food is food which has been changed from its natural state in an industrial commercial standardized process and any of the following additional operations have been done:  heated, frozen, separated, spun; other foods or food extracts or chemicals added to it and packaged for attractiveness, convenience and/or longevity, for direct sale or to be used in further food production processes.

We eat food to gain energy.  Processed food depletes our energy,  nutritive resources, cells, tissues, organs, skin and vitality, damages our DNA.

The purpose is so that food which tastes good and sometimes looks good and pretty much looks and tastes like real food gets to the consumer, so that it can usually be stored for some time and whose production and sale earn maximum profitability for the producer.

Nutritive value does not seem to be a factor in the "production" of this food.  Notice the languaging proudly used around our food today: Process.  Production. Industry.  Factory.  Manufacturing.  Company.  Corporation.  Subsidiary.  Commercial.   Less and less is that 4 letter word heard:  FARM.

Please keep in mind the very important consideration that --- When you Experience a Craving --- it is often because your body is telling you to ingest certain nutrients.  Just as when a cold is coming on or during the time you have it, you have a craving for orange juice or Chicken Soup.  Your body is telling you it wants those nutrients (Vitamin C, amino acids) to reduce the effects of the cold.

The Secret of Fast Foods Success:     Back to our cave man days, we understand that food supplies were not always as reliable as they are for us today.   Do you know the 3 nutrients, minimum, that aside from water, we needed for basic survival?  FAT.   SALT.   SUGAR.

Fast Food companies know this.  They give you plenty of  FAT.   SALT.   SUGAR.    However!   This is not "real" food.  These are not "real" nutrients in a form that your body can and wants to ingest, digest and assimilate.   These are  FAKE  food substances.

What happens is they smell and taste real, but they are not.   They are empty nutrients, mainly calories that have a taste that fakes out our tongues.  Our noses and tongues think its real food, but its not.   We eat.  And eat and eat and eat.   But are not satisfied.  So we keep eating.   And get fat and sick and still are not satisfied because we are not providing nutrients.  Just calories.   Some folks fool themselves into believing they are virtuous eaters when they eat the lettuce in their Big Mac.  Yes, they are fooling themselves.  Too bad.

What to do about it?  Find out what nutrients your body is really craving.  Eat those first.  Eventually your cravings will reduce.  We're talking about cravings here, not addictions, which get handled another way.  Examples:
Salt cravings?   have some sea vegetables, such as dulse.
Chocolate?  sweets?   Eat mineral rich vegetables or ripe fruit in season, or, liquid minerals
Beer?  Carb cravings?   Have some bananas
You want greasy food?   Mix one or 2 tablespoons flax oil, hemp oil, etc., in cottage cheese.  Ensure the oil is not rancid.   Fresh olives.  Fresh coconut.  Guacamole.   Whole grain real bread dipped in virgin olive oil.

FERMENTED FOODS, CONDIMENTS,  too, have been totally screwed up by the processed food industry.   Fermented foods, such as kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut are supposed to have live bacteria in them.   This makes them extremely healthy.   They are supposed to!  Instead, much of these foods have been pasteurized and so they are pretty much dead and of little nutritive value.

Condiments are little "food accents" that help have enzymes and digest food and/or eliminate detrimental bacteria.   Such as:  horseradish, papaya, pineapple, wasabi, mint jelly.   Instead these condiments have been processed to hell and back and their real value, in addition to a lot of their taste, has been neutralized.

Processed food becomes commercially successful when it can sit on a shelf forever without it going all kinds of moldy.  It is this ability to go moldy --- the enzymes in the food --- that will cause it to go moldy if not eaten by a certain time --- that gives it its health value.   A piece of bread that can sit on the counter for days without getting hard or moldy can be very dangerous for your body.

Fake Food?  What happens to it?   It may be in a form not recognized by the body, so the liver doesn't know what to do with it and stores it as fat.  It can also become a toxic element and stored as toxic fat, taking away oxygen and nutrients from the tissues.  Because our nutritional needs remain unsatisfied, we remain hungry and eat and eat.  And eat.

Eat Real Food.   Forget about diet food.  It tastes like crap anyway, and your body knows the difference.   Eat real butter.   You need butyric acid which you can only get from real butter.   Margarine is liquid plastic.   Food with good fat contains oxygen which helps to burn bad fat.

Kefir is a fermented, usually milk drink that originally comes from the area around the Caucasus mountains (near Turkey).    It is made by fermenting cow, goat, or sheep's milk with kefir grains which are a combination of bacteria and yeasts in a mixture of proteins, lipids, and sugars.   A vast assortment of beneficial bacteria and yeasts are found in the kefir grains, which you have to obtain from a source, are a complex and highly variable community of micro-organisms, very good for the digestion and overall health.  Kefir has become more healthful than yoghourt as its overdone mass commercial processing often does not contain live active bacteria --- which was its main health attraction.
Toronto Dowser Olga (Oli) Ullman, who lives in King City, and who has become a resource on fermented foods and kefir writes for us:

I was born in Eastern Europe where Kefir was a popular beverage. We often enjoyed drinking kefir together with a vegetarian meal, as a smoothie mixed with fruits or we used it as a dressing for the salads.

For people who are not familiar with kefir, cow's milk kefir is a good place to start, since it has a mild, creamy flavor. Kefir made with sheep or goat milk can be a bit gamy and tangy, because of the hormones that these animals produce but for many people who are lactose intolerant this can be a great alternative. Ideal milk for  kefir making is a raw organic or biodynamic milk.  Raw milk is rich  in enzymes and contains all 22 of the essential amino acids. Research  has shown that raw milk contains enzymes and antibodies that make  milk actually less susceptible to bacterial contamination.  Unfortunately it is still against the law to sell raw milk in Canada.

To make a kefir you can either use real Kefir grains or kefir  starter. Real Kefir grains look like pieces of cauliflower. If you  wash a piece under the tap you will discover something that looks  like a convoluted fungi. They multiply very and if you take good care  of them you don't have to buy replace them. Disadvantage is that  basically you have to make Kefir every day to feed the grains.

You can not buy live grains in the store. I have ordered them through  the internet from this list of addresses WORLD WIDE:   KEFIR GRAINS   (This is somewhat reminiscent of the beginning of the Kombucha Mushroom, in concept, origin, health benefits and community.)

When you receive your kefir grains about 1 teaspoon put them all  into a clean 350 ml glass jar. Add 200 ml of milk straight from the  refrigerator, no need to warm the milk, preferably raw cow or goats  milk. Lightly screw on a plastic lid (one which won't rust) without  the cardboard insert, which could harbour the growth of unwanted  organisms. Leave the lid loose enough, to allow carbon dioxide  produced in the fermentation process to escape from the jar. (Unless  you want a fizzy Kefir that is.) Store the culture out of direct  sunlight in a cupboard or on top of the refrigerator for about 24  hours. It is not necessary to stir the culture but it is permissible  to stir it once during that period. Once the Kefir has cultured to  your liking, strain it through a sieve using a fork to separate the  curd from the grains. Pour the curd back into its jar and put the  Kefir grains into a clean jar with fresh milk and repeat the process.

If you are getting Body Ecology Kefir Starter, it  is easy and economical to make at home.   Simply take one packet and combine with your favorite milk. It tastes  great plain, with your favorite fruit, or it makes a great base for  smoothies, dips, and salad dressings.

One Starter box contains six packets and instructions for making up  to 42 quarts of Kefir. You can make as many as seven such "transfers"  from one packet and each batch will last up to a week when  refrigerated. If you want to experiment more you can use young  coconut water instead of milk.

    Marilyn's Cosmic Soup

This is my all time favorite recipe.  I developed this recipe and explanation as my food demo for my Holistic Nutritional class project.  After all the ingredients were assembled, it took 5 minutes to prepare.   Be careful when eating because this will be like turning up the afterburners on your jet engine in that it will give you tons of energy.  And is absolutely totally scrumtiously delicious.  Perfect for spring and summer fare.
    Blend in Blender until smooth:
                 4 - 6 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
                 2 cups (packed) Fresh Spinach
1 medium or ½ large Avocado
                 ½ - 1 Apple (peeled, cored)
                 1 1/4 cups Good Water
Optional: ½ cup Buckwheat and/or Sunflower Sprouts

    Stir in:
                 Juice from ½ - 1 lemon
                 2/3 cup coarsely chopped Sprouts
(one, or combination of: Mung, Sunflower, Buckwheat)

            Chopped green Olives
Cayenne Pepper - or -  Tabasco (per individual serving)
            Flax seed, etc., oil (individual)

     Yield:  Approximately 4   cups
Serve at room temperature, or, chilled

Freshly blended vegetables are an excellent way to get a variety of vegetables.   Blended, they are more easily digested.  This is an excellent way to prepare vegetables for, or, when, travelling.

Avocado:  A natural source of lecithin, brain food, easily digested monounsaturates, rich in copper which is used for red blood cell formation; good protein source for nursing mothers

Lettuce Leaf (dark green):  Rich in Chlorophyll, Vitamins A, C and the sedative lactucarium which relaxes the nerves without impairing digestion.

Spinach:  Facilitates internal body movement, rich in iron, chlorophyll, Vitamin A, Calcium which may be, however neutralized by its oxalic acid content

Lemon:  The most valuable fruit therapeutically for people who have eaten a high fat / protein diet.  Destroys putrefactive bacteria in the intestines and in the mouth.  Benefits the liver, encourages the production of bile, improves absorption of minerals, promotes weight loss, cleanses the blood, treats high blood pressure and thick, poorly circulating blood.

Another Player in the Wireless Industry:  When the Smallest may become the Biggest

In our last (February 2008) issue, there was an extensive article on:
                                               Electropollution around the planet
The Disappearance of:   The Birds, the Bees and the Bats, Insects and Frogs, too.
Increasing:  WiFi, Apartments, Digital TV signals and more!

Another piece of related information has appeared since that time & may interest you:   Femtocell.   A box (about 8" x 6" x 3") that you connect to your broadband router; it essentially gives you your very own cell phone tower, right in your home.   Great, huh?   Just what we need.  In each apartment, in each apartment building, say you are in a highrise, like mine, with 400 units -- we can now have (soon!)  not only a wireless "smart" meter that is continually trying to collect hydro/electric usage data in each and every apartment unit, but also the equivalent of a cell phone tower (in functionality) in each home.  Ducky.

The functionality --- as you will read below --- may be splendid --- however --- can this?  does this?  affect our biology?   Of course, this issue overlooked, probably hidden under all the gallons of drool generated by all the biteheads.

FEMTOs (Femtocells) were just recently introduced into the wireless world  (2007)  and the interest is spreading like wildfire.  I found out about it because I just happened to come across a small article that piqued my curiosity.  "They" are asking:  = >    Will  Femtos Reshape The Wireless Industry?

Femto Cells:    The word, or actually, the prefix "femto" means: 10-15. That is one thousandth of a trillionth,   the metric prefix: one quadrillionth (million billionth) of a unit., or something really, really small. So, as you might deduce, a femto cell is a small cellular basestation. Think of a basestation about the size of the common wireless router box used in homes and other access points. We normally assume that basestations are the typical big cell site with tall tower, lots or antennas and an equipment house nearby. There are tens of thousands of these around and they are very visible. But what you do not often see are the smaller basestations called micro or pico cells that are placed on top of buildings or inside buildings in high density population areas where cell coverage is commonly poor or even unavailable. These pico or micro cells have a short range, but fill in the coverage gaps caused by indoor environmental blockage or fading service and dropped calls in the urban canyons. Now we are on the verge of getting an even smaller basestation called the femto cell. It is targeting the home. Yes, a home basestation.  Your very own.

You will be able to buy a home femto cell in the coming years.  It will give you coverage for your cell phone at home and a short distance surrounding your home. The femto cell will use your existing high-speed Internet connection via cable TV, DSL or fiber optics as back-haul to the carrier.

The questions about femto cells starts with why?  There always seems to be a small percentage of cell phone users who get lousy coverage at their homes. They may live in a rural area or a big apartment or condo building or have other environmental issues that make transmission and reception the pits.

[Our Healing & Dowsing History and of Special Interest to Massage Therapists]
Albert Schatz (1920–2005),  Microbiologist,  Dowser, Energy Healer, Spiritual Bodyworker, Humanitarian
Albert Schatz, Ph.D. was a minister and a scientist who has bridged the metaphysical and physical worlds. Degrees in Soil Science, Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry, as a 23-year-old graduate student, Dr. Schatz discovered the antibiotic Streptomycin which was the first effective means of treating tuberculosis. This disease, also known as consumption and The Great White Plague,  has killed more than a billion people during the last two centuries.

Streptomycin was also the first effective treatment for pneumonic plague which is the most deadly form of bubonic plague, also known as The Black Death;  and for tularemia, brucellosis, and other serious infectious diseases.

He became involved with Alternative Health Care when he became a consultant for Rodale Press, Inc. At that time, very few doctors in the United States were actively involved with AHC and  was invited to lecture on AHC  holistic health organizations in the U.S.

During the l970s, Dr. Schatz served as scientific advisor for the Foundation for Alternative Cancer Therapies, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Cancer Victims and Friends. He studied Swedish Massage, Feldenkrais, Tragerwork, CranioSacral Therapy and Therapeutic Touch. Alexander technique,  Dr. Schatz was for several years the Scientific Advisor for the International Academy of Massage Science.

Dr. Schatz did spiritual healing and other kinds of healing for over 20 years. He became interested in spiritual healing when he learned about Harry Edwards' work **. As a research scientist, he realized that spiritual healing deserves serious consideration by science and medicine.

1994, Dr. Schatz established the Church for Spiritual Healing and Health. He edited and wrote for the Journal of Spiritual Bodywork and the Spiritual Massage Ministry Newsletter  He has given workshops on Spiritual Healing, Dowsing for Health, and Therapeutic Touch in many US states.

** British spiritual healer   Harry Edwards (1893-1976) also did much to publicize the subject of spiritual healing. He treated patients directly at his Healing Sanctuary in Britain or on the platform at public meetings, and also by "absent healing" through correspondence. He operated as a Spiritualist healer, was in great demand, and frequently gave lectures and led healing services throughout Great Britain. He received some two thousand letters daily, many from patients in distant countries. His records indicated close to a 80 percent recovery rate dealing with such diseases as cancer, tuberculosis, arthritis and epilepsy, etc. Edwards worked closely with physicians. He believed that spiritual healing power passed through him with the assistance of discarnate spirit helpers****, and also claimed to have traveled outside his body to visit distant patients. He authored a number of books and published a monthly magazine, "The Spiritual Healer",  from his home.

**** [note: John of God, the healer in Brazil, also is said to work through discarnate spirit helpers]

On Energy Healing, TT, Dowsing he wrote:

"Energy healing modalities, such as Therapeutic Touch, involve nature because energy is a form of nature. Massage therapy and other kinds of bodywork also involve nature because the material body is a form of nature.

Some healers, who incorporate dowsing as part of their healing technique, believe they work with nature.  Others believe they work with God. The program of the 1983 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Dowsers included The Dowser's Prayer: " Lord, Guide my hands, enhance my sensitivity, and bless my purpose, that I may be an instrument of Your power and glory in locating what is searched for." (Josefa V. Rivera, 1977).

There are many effective healers in different cultures and different religions, including earth and nature religions. And there are many different ways of healing ourselves, others, and our planet. Some healers use simple things, such as feathers, sand, and crystals which cost nothing.

Dowsers use tree branches, and L-rods made of wire clothes hangers. Most healers use only their intent. Some healers do laying on of hands. Others, as in Therapeutic Touch and distant (absent) healing, do not touch those whom they help. Obviously, there is no one way of healing that is right way or best for everybody.

One thing all healers have in common is their intent to be helpful. Their intent includes respect, compassion and love. People who want to develop their healing ability generally start with the simplest procedures.

Some bodyworkers consider "bodywork as a means of planetary healing" and believe that "massage therapists are planetary healers." However, the massage/bodywork literature has yet to seriously discuss what nature is and how we can communicate and work in cooperation with nature. Without such reliable information, there is no clear-cut understanding of what the nature of bodywork really is and whether we are working most effectively to heal ourselves, our clients, and the planet.

If you are interested in some of the spiritual as well as legal considerations of Massage Therapy it is suggested that you read his past articles and journal entries which can be found at the online Journal of Spiritual Bodywork.  Especially the September 2000 issue and his article:  WHAT IS SUBTLE ENERGY?  WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?  AND HOW IS IT MEASURED?

WHAT YOU DO:  Note the Birth Days of your friends, below.
Using  Mary Stinson's October 10th birthday as an example:
As you are -- transitioning from the sleep state -- that morning, intend -- with passion! -- and/or say out loud:

"Today is  Mary's birthday.  In her honor, please bless me with a glorious day and help me deal with anything that comes up in the best way possible.  And bless Mary with the same.   AMEN!"

Adam Weishophf,  upon establishing his "Order of the Illuminati", May 1, 1776:   "The most wonderful thing of all is that the distinguished Lutheran and Calvinist theologians who belong to our order really believe that they see in it (Illuminati) the true and genuine sense of Christian Religion.

Oh mortal man, is there anything you cannot be made to believe?"
-- Adam Weishophf (1748-1830?) Professor of Natural and Canon Law at Germany's Ingolstadt University, founded The Order of the Illuminati on May 1, 1776.
He designed the very plan of world domination that is still in use today to enslave the world's masses.

"It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am. The idea that I meant to convey, was, that I did not believe that the Lodges of Free Masons in _this_ Country had, as Societies, endeavoured to  propagate the diabolical tenets of the first, or pernicious principles of the latter (if they are susceptible of separation). That Individuals of them may have done it, or that the founder, or instrument employed to found, the Democratic Societies in the United States, may have had these
objects; and actually had a separation of the People from their Government in view, is too evident to be questioned." -- George Washington (1732-1799) Founding Father, 1st US President, 'Father of the Country,' Freemason Source: letter to George Washington Snyder, October 24, 1798, Mount Vernon.
Washington acknowledged that the Illuminati had begun actively recruiting members from within the American lodges of Freemasonry.
"From the days of Spartacus, Weishophf, Karl Marx, Trotski, Belacoon, Rosa Luxenburg, and Ema Goldman, this world conspiracy has been steadily growing. This conspiracy played a definite recognizable role in the tragedy of the French revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th Century. And now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their head and have become the undisputed masters of that enormous empire." -- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) Prime Minister of England
"What is needed here is a return to the Constitution of the United States. We need to have a complete divorce of Bank and State. The old struggle that was fought out here in Jackson's day must be fought over again...  The Federal Reserve Act should be repealed and the Federal Reserve Banks, having violated their charters, should be liquidated immediately. Faithless Government officers who have violated their oaths of office should be impeached and brought to trial. Unless this is done by us, I predict that the American people, outraged, robbed, pillaged, insulted, and betrayed as they are in their own land, will rise in their wrath and send a President here who will sweep the money changers out of the temple." -- Louis McFadden (1876-1936) US Congressman (R-PA) (1915-1935). Poisoned in 1936.
"I don't give a goddamn. I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way. ... Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper!" -- George W. Bush (1946- ) 43rd US President, Yale Skull & Bones Society November 2005   Source: White House cabinet meeting to discuss the renewal of the Patriot Act, in response to GOP leaders presenting a valid case that the Patriot Act undermined the Constitution.
"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." -- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) 26th US President
"Man is not free unless government is limited... As government expands, liberty contracts." -- Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) 40th US President
"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad."  -- Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) Author
